Was anyone else traumatized by the elephant man?
I wasn't scared of him, I felt very sorry. I thought it was a sad story.

ADD - I was an adult when it came out. I don't think it's an appropriate movie for preteens.
Reply:heck, it's the other people who are so cruel to him that i was afraid of.
Reply:I didn't see it unitl I was grown. But it's not meant to be afraid of. The point of the movie is that he was just as human as you and I. I think you should see it again to look at it from a different perspective. It's one of the top 10 best movies in my opinion.
Reply:That was one of David Lynch's more mainstream movies. too.
Reply:I saw it when I was a kid, too. I was intrigued, not scared.
Reply:I wasn't scared, just sad. I cried. I can't watch it today
Reply:I was recently traumatized by the elephant man. he followed me on the street and said you are a noo-noo! You! Yes you! You are a NOO-NOO! Other people started starting and pointing and it was like, I mean, you know, it was like.. gross, man, and he wouldnt go away and i was like, traumatized for days, I was.
Reply:I saw it when I was a teenager, but I wasnt afraid, I cried for him. Knowing that the movie was based on the true story. And just everything John Merrick had to go through. It was soo sad. He was a human regardless of what he looked like. He couldnt help being born that way...he just wanted to be normal...but I understand at 7 seeing that would seem a little scary...how do u feel now??
