Last weekend I went out to the Columbus Pet Expo here in Ohio. Among several toys and other things, I actually got a small tent for my cat! I think it's adorable (it looks like an elephant and is actually a kids' tent), and set it up in my living room. Here's a pic of the same tent I bought:

The back has a nice big opening, the two feet in front unzip into kitty-sized entrances, and the ear flaps on the sides roll up revealing two screened windows. I put some blankets and toys inside, and my cat loves it! It's her own little fort. It's safe and sets up anywhere with just 2 tent poles on the inside.
Has anybody else out there tried this or something similar with their cat or kitten?
Anybody have a tent for their cat?
Yeah! My kitty loves hers.. Well... Loves destroying it... And I also got her a little privacy curtain for her litterbox. She loves it.
(She carries around the tentpoles and leaves them in the closet)
Reply:I think its pretty cute. My mom has a cat and she has one of those towers similiar to this.

Her cat is the most spoiled I have ever seen. Everytime I visit her house I see her cat sleeping in the top tier.
Reply:I have a pet pen that is made up of parachute material it has a flap that I keep open and my cat Mia loves it! She go's in and out when ever she likes. It is under my desk now.
Reply:I would like to get an outdoor tent for my ferals so I can put food out for them without the rain getting in the food or the cats having to eat in the rain.
Reply:I am late coming in on this but....Saw the pix...That is freakin' great...no I do not have one...My kitty (Miss. Olivia) has gotten older and we had a choice...put her to sleep (because she was tinkling everywhere, including the pillows on the bed) or give her this huge condominium. We splurged the expense on a gigantic cage with a small crawl in and out home, litter box, and lots of things to play with. She gave us the best of her life so...you don't shoot Grandma because she has to wear Depends. Your cat is very lucky. Alda
Reply:Cats love tents or boxes. Yours is very cute. I am jealous.
Reply:No, I haven't, but I'm sure my cat wouldn't like it.
Reply:My kitten crawled inside my 2 cubic feet of potting soil bag yesterday. That was my attempt at a tent. I painted a cable reel to match my bedroom for a climbing/scratching post. All of the toys that I have purchased-that were made for cats-are gathering dust. I have had better luck with trash bags and wads of paper:)
Reply:This question is basically an ad for a kid's tent.
Reply:I bought one of the tents at Target that is meant for little dogs...It was easy set up, and my cats love it. The only problem is that it is a little short, so when they leave, their tail will get caught on the entrance and unless something is weighing the tent down, they will drag it behind them! I solved this by just putting a blanket down on the floor of the tent, which made them love the tent even more :D
Best of all, the one at Target is $2.50...don't think they're selling it anymore; it was in the $1 section at Christmas time, along with some cute clothes and stuff...
Reply:There are no "stupid" questions, only "stupid" answers. But no, I've never seen anything like it, but I would bet my cat would enjoy this too. I think I read somewhere that cats like the feeling of being covered from view, or in an enclosed space. I think it's adorable.
Reply:I have seen advertisements for the "cat tent" when they first started making them a few yrs ago. I am waiting for the price to come down and than would like to get one for my lil boykatt.
Reply:My cats only like cardboard boxes. I tried the tent, big waste of money because they preferred the cardboard.
Reply:Oh my goodness! I never thought of that! In the summer i put out an umbrella on the lawn for my cats to have some shade and i thought that was good! Im definatley going to try that for my cats! Im sure they will love it! Fantastic! Give your cat a hug from me!
Reply:yea, i have one for my cat, she loves it
Reply:thats a stupid question.
