I am kinda new to airsoft I have owned a double eagle g36c spring, and it sucked it won't go past 50 feet.

I was planning on buying a Both Elephant SL9 and adding a 600fps spring. Would that make it a good AEG gun? besides fps, what do you guys think of the gun?

a BE LPEG with a 600FPS spring.

I'm not sure who would play against a 600FPS AEG (well it happens in Asia..) However you would face a few problems.

BE, CYMA, UTG.. All face limited upgrade potential, and if a systema 600 FPS spring (or PDI 300%(ish) ) even fits, with a weak gearbox shell, and plastic gears you might get one shot. To make a $300 AEG shoot that hot you would need Hi Torque Gears, Reinforced Gearbox, Metal tooth piston, upgraded Cylinder, New spring guide, and a few replaceable parts on hand (for when they brake), a new motor (pretty much a Systema Magnum Hi-torque).

That said those parts will cost more then the gun.. The motors are about $70-$100. You could try and drop in a hi power spring, but I doubt the motor will even turn over (it might burn out though, i doubt the BE's have a fuse).

To make a BE (both elephant) a nice gun, replace the mechbox, put in a tightbore barrel, and a new hop-up. Then buy the SL-9 kit (hurricane makes one I think) and put it on to replace the externals.

That said, I personally would recommend you buying a TM, ICS, CA, G%26amp;P, or Star. If you save up your money you won't regret it.

Or you could get a BE SL-9 and leave it (or don't upgrade it that much).

P.S. a 600 FPS spring isn't illigal in the US, only parts of Europe (Germany? (or France?) and England) and Japan.
