While you were pregnant, did you ever suffer from sore & swollen feet, ankles & legs (below the knee) at all?

If so, how did you cope with it all?

Did you do or take anything specific to alleviate those painful (and sometimes terribly itchy) symptoms?

How much time did you have to wait after the birth of your baby before your feet, ankles and lower legs went back to their original shape and size?

It's so unsightly too, isn't it?

I feel like a balloon or even an elephant at times, lol!

P.S. I'm 37 weeks into my gestational period by the way.

Thank you so much for your time!

While you were pregnant, did you ever suffer from sore %26amp; swollen feet, ankles %26amp; legs (below the knee) at all?
Yeah, i get this even if i walk around for 10 minutes. My ankles get really swollen and if i walk about alot, so do my legs (below knee), the best thing to do is relax and put your feet up (quite literally!!) so the circulation is increased... but if it becomes very regular, then see your GP as this can be a sign of pre-eclapsemia (dont know if thats how u spell it) but u certainly dont want to take risks with swollen ankles coz it can increase your blood pressure

so keep an eye on things and dont hesitate to tell your doctor/midwife

hope this helps
Reply:i had dreadful restless legs at 4-7 weeks pregnant then the swelling started and im only 9 weeks now. went doc and asked advice as it seems far too early she said put feet up when you can and dont get dehydrated cos if you do the body hangs on to more fluid and swelling gets worse. also avoid standing or sitting too long keep the legs moving or fluid will pool in the ankles. after my first second and third pregnancies the swelling was gone in the first week. it doesnt last forever so dont worry just use it as time to put ur feet up!
Reply:yep.

toes, feet, legs, knees, hands, fingers and face.

i was due in august so i was heavily pregnant in the height of summer so the heat had a big part to play in my swelling but the midwifes continually checked for pre eclampsia as bad swelling is sign. i dont remember being swollen during labour so thats when it maybe stopped for me, but im not 100% sure.

dont wear shoes when you dont need to. have cool pack ready and rest them on the swellin and where you can, relax and put your feet up, slightly elevated and make sure you drink plenty of water
Reply:Toward the end it is very common. Try elevating your legs every chance you get. Drink extra water to help flush toxins. i found soking them in epsin salts felt GREAT. Wont be long now and you will have the little one and your ancles will be back to normal very soon after mine took about 3 days to go back down.

and don't wear socks with elastic at the top it slows blood flow.
Reply:i just experienced my first swollen foot the other day! only my left foot was swollen and it was swollen good! it was pretty unsightly, lol. and it was rather painful being so tight and swollen. i just elevated it and it went away in about a day or two.
Reply:I was only pregnant once before for 4 mos and did not experience that. But, Im not sure at what stages of pregnancy that begins. We retain water at around 2 mos, but I don't recall it being in those areas. I'm probably not much help!
Reply:when my friend was pregnant her legs and feet got really big and swollen and it was really noticeable right after her birth but it went away like in a week but everyone is differnt.
Reply:i was never pregnant but wen my sister was she had that it wasnt anything bad it was just from getten fat from pregnancy :p
